We are representing this 1998 BMW M3 sedan for one of our long-time customers. We have been the caretakers of this M3 since 2013 and in that time the vehicle has been very well maintained and cared for. The exterior is clean and clear of any significant dents or damage. While the exterior shows very nicely, this M3 did see regular street use throughout its life and therefore it is does possess some minor blemishes, however nothing that is abnormal or excessive. The photos illustrate any exterior wear that is notable. The interior of this M3 is also in very good condition. There are no odors, stains, dirt build up, or animal hair. The E36 platform cars are known to not have the most durable of interiors. This example escapes most of the typical interior panel problems except for two areas the glove box cover is loose, and the door pocket of the left rear door is loose from the door panel. The owner reports that at some point in the past the passenger front power seat malfunctioned and the repair at that time involved leaving the seat back in a fixed position. The tilt and fore and aft functions of the passenger seat do still work. The included interior pictures are an accurate representation of how nice this interior is overall. Mechanically this M3 is exceptional. Whatever work was needed was performed and as a result this M3 is a dream to drive. The engine is smooth and quiet and provides the right amount of linear power. The manual gearbox shifts easily, and the clutch take up is smooth. A new clutch was installed at 134k miles ensuring many more years of use before needing serviced again. Road manners are kept under control by Bilstein B8 struts and rear shocks that were installed 20k miles ago. The 17" Style 23 M Contour wheels are in overall excellent condition with a minimal number of nicks or scuffs consistent with the age and mileage of the M3. The wheels are wrapped in fresh Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires. This vehicle is an excellent example of what we believe will be recognized as the golden era of German automobiles.
